Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be an athlete to benefit from Sports Massage?
Not at all! Sports Massage is suitable for individuals of all activity levels. It's not limited to athletes; it's designed to promote muscle health, reduce tension, and aid relaxation for everyone.
How often should I get a treatment?
It depends on your individual goals. I generally recommend the following unless otherwise specified at our appointment:
Prevention for everyone if no issues: once a month
People with sitting jobs: once a fortnight to 3 weeks
Builders, carpenters, manual therapists, nurturing professionals like nurses, doctors, dentists, care workers, PT etc.: once a week to fortnight
Sports professionals, full-time workers with 5+hrs high intensity training per week; active people 60+ who wish to speed up their recovery: once a week to fortnight
Ongoing problem where pain is severe (NPRS) or there is a limiting dysfunction: may need once a week or more frequent depending on the symptoms and indicated recovery approach (might be a combo of massage and a supervised exercise program in the first couple weeks)
Is there car parking available?
Yes, there is plenty free car parking available.
Do you do a deep tissue massage?
Yes, the pressure is always adjusted to your needs.
I am in pain and am looking for a treatment but I am not sure whether I should book in a Sport Massage or Recovery Exercise Program. What do you recommend?
Please contact me and explain in detail your concerns. I will then be able to recommend a proper course of action. For the most part in such cases, I combine a hands on treatment first followed by a demonstration of a suitable exercise at the initial treatment.
Can I claim my private health insurance rebate?
Unfortunately not at this stage, however I have discount packages available for everyone with up to $20 off per treatment. You can purchase them in person at your next session.
